Kiemberg along Vilstal

Tuesday again and out biking with Nico. Set of a bit late but biked down to Nesselwang, talking to Moni on her way down to race biking. Went along the same route as I did last Thursday evening as the trails Inge finds are brilliant and they are often still in my GPS to follow.
On to Pfronten with clouds hanging low on the mountains and no sunshine getting through. Up the first steep bit, which I actually managed today, didn't succeed last week as my front wheel lifted of the ground. Along the “no pushchair” trail (there is a sign forbidding them) on which Nico took the lead with his GoPro, might be a few videos sometime.
Along and then down Vilstal, putting on long clothes against the cold. Up one side and then down on the other side of the river. Mistook a person in a field for a deer, but biked past the “deer” a few minutes later.
After that back to Nesselwang in about the same time as it took on Thursday.
Will have to clean my bike tomorrow.

First Thursday Biking

First time group biking this year, and to be honest I was a bit afraid. They had had three weeks of training whilst I had been stuck in school in North Bavaria. But it turned out to be brilliant again.
Lots of people there today and at quarter to seven Group 1 set of with eleven people. First it was towards Pfronten along the old main road through Kappel and then through some hamlets of mentioned town. Up along a steep part at the side of the Kiemberg which, according to Inge, had a gradient of 21°. After that along a new forest trail, with Sepp having the first flat tire in the season.
After that downhill and then along the Vils on one side. Had to cross a small trickle of water which Inge had mentioned before (as she had said it we thought we were going to bike through a ragging mountain river).
At one point we crossed the river and then went back along the Vils towards Pfronten. After attaching our lights, whoever had one, it was back to Nesselwang through Kappel, watching the full moon rise over the mountains. There was a partial eclipse at about 10.00 PM, just after we arrived at the Bistro.
Track at GPSies and pictures from Sepp here (my sister has my camera now).

2013 First Biking

First time biking today. Rummaged around the garage until I found my bike which had been there since September. Pumped up the tires, looked for some chain oil (none in the house, of course) and then set of with Nico to somewhere.
Went past Jon's first, to see if he was still open and had a few drops of oil. Stood in front of his door at 18.12 o'clock and he closed at 18.00. But as the chain wasn’t that bad I went on without oil. Biked towards and through Wertachtal chatting with Nico along the way and took some backtrack trail up towards Schneidbach. Nico got further than me, but had to get of at some point as further up we noticed there were a few planks of wet wood on the ground.
After that along the typical 7 lake route, but got lost a few times and found another small lake. I got my bearings somewhere near the Atlesee again and as we still had some time left we took the route around the Kögelweiher and along a trail past the Gehzeitenweg, where we looked at an upside down world. Back towards Nesselwang with the sun setting in the west and a chat with Nico at the swimming pool before it was of towards home.
